I get the (seemingly) random nature.com emails about stuff they have on their web page and this one just struck me as interesting. Its only an abstract but interesting none the less...

Great link! The perfect example of this is the reconstruction of Japan after WWII. The Japanese people felt the restrictions and forced changes on their society were fair, and Japan emerged as a great cooperator in the modern world.
