He must have been looking for Sebastian.
"I'm sorry- Bash isn't here," she told him politely, stepping out now into full view. It was an uncomfortable position to be in, her body practically sideways as she peaked out the incredibly heavy, solid wood door that she had been using as shield.
"I can tell him you came by?"

"Nevermind Bash, I'll catch him some other time. I'm really glad you're here. I've heard both too much and not nearly enough about the long lost sister back from the dead and I was starting to think I'd never get to actually meet you."
He took a half step back as she stepped in clearer view from behind the heavy barrier of the door, giving her a quick once-over look.
"Hell, you're cute as a damn button, aren't you?" he grinned before catching himself in his rudeness and rambling.
He laughed, shaking his head. "I'm sorry, where are my manners. Hi. I'm Reid. I'm a friend of your brother's."

It was a little weird.
But then he introduced himself and something clicked-
"Oh- you're Reid," she said, her guard dropping instantly. Her brother had mentioned only two people to her- Jemma and Reid. And while her meeting with Jemma had...well, gone absolutely terribly, she was still curious about Reid.
"Sebastian mentioned you a few times."
