Closed; Unexpected Visitor

Just as they had hoped, moving Bri into one of the guest rooms had helped with her restlessness. The room she had picked was just as large as her childhood room, with a massive four poster bed, a bay window overlooking the garden, and attached bathroom that was now all her own. Once the furniture had been dusted off and re-polished everything ( Read more... )

Reid probably shouldn't have kept making a habit of dropping by Daley Manor unannounced. But planning meet ups ahead of time was out of the question, and owling ahead was annoying and tedious without an owl of his own, and, mostly, he generally got entirely too much of a kick out of the way Sebastian kept trying to act annoyed by his unexpected presence. And so far, randomly dropping in had tended to work in his favor ( ... )

Whoever this was at the door seemed entirely too excited to see her and Sabrina was certainly that he must have been confused. There was no way that anyone, aside from her own brother maybe, that would ever been this happy (shocked and uncomfortable maybe but definitely not happy) to come face to face with her.

He must have been looking for Sebastian.

"I'm sorry- Bash isn't here," she told him politely, stepping out now into full view. It was an uncomfortable position to be in, her body practically sideways as she peaked out the incredibly heavy, solid wood door that she had been using as shield.

"I can tell him you came by?"

Reid waved a hand flippantly to brush off her suggestion.

"Nevermind Bash, I'll catch him some other time. I'm really glad you're here. I've heard both too much and not nearly enough about the long lost sister back from the dead and I was starting to think I'd never get to actually meet you."

He took a half step back as she stepped in clearer view from behind the heavy barrier of the door, giving her a quick once-over look.

"Hell, you're cute as a damn button, aren't you?" he grinned before catching himself in his rudeness and rambling.

He laughed, shaking his head. "I'm sorry, where are my manners. Hi. I'm Reid. I'm a friend of your brother's."

It was difficult to get a single word in with him going on and on like that, not even a moment for a thank you or try to get him to come back when Bash was around. After all, she wasn't just going to entertain anyone in her brother's absence no matter how much he seemed to know about her.

It was a little weird.

But then he introduced himself and something clicked-

"Oh- you're Reid," she said, her guard dropping instantly. Her brother had mentioned only two people to her- Jemma and Reid. And while her meeting with Jemma had...well, gone absolutely terribly, she was still curious about Reid.

"Sebastian mentioned you a few times."
