that was beautiful rhi, belive me! you should post this.
waow. the sentences you've used, and the paragraphs..
you broke my heart, girl. you did.
my fav is this though :
She had known that he loved her almost as long as she had known that she loved him. Perhaps both had occurred at the same moment, one event in both of their lives turning feelings of annoyance and grudging companionship into something more. It was her job to read people, and Mal’s feelings screamed at her from a mile away. Every word of ‘I hate you’ was a code for ‘I love you’, and Inara honoured this, knowing that her feelings could never be expressed in any other way. There was a silent understanding between them; codes should never be broken.
I really like this and I like your characterization of Inara. And you said that you were having trouble with her? Well, I think you've done a pretty great job of writing her! Also, I really like the way you wrote the Mal/Inara relationship. I think you've captured it really well.
She was going to lose Mal, and she was going to lose Serenity, that much was true. But at least she would be able to keep her dignity.
And Inara Serra was nothing if not a dignified woman. I really liked this 'cos I think it really captures what Inara is like.
Omg, your fic is making me want to watch Firefly :p
Heeee. Really, what more can I say. It was beautiful. My brain is all fuzzly right now. But I will tell you more specifics later, after another read through. But you should post it!
