I was psyched to hear this and psyched that RWU didn't shut it down or intervene.

This kid has balls and is absolutely right. There are scholarships for blacks ONLY, spanish ONLY, etc etc etc, where proof of heritage must be noted...

Not ALLOWING one for white students assumes that ALL white students are priveledged and have money, while hispanic and black students are poor and need assistance.

It's offensive to everyone involved. If I was white and poor, that sucks. if i was black and rich, i dont want people looking at me like I'm a charity case or I didn't earn it on my own merits.

Affirmative Action is unfair. the end.

actually, i just finished reading an essay for a class on gender, race, and class in hollywood last week that talked about how people dont regard white as a race, and it is asumed for the most part, when you are talking about a friend, he/she is white, unless noted.... but anyways, im wicked happy that it was a hispanic kid who brought it up, because, as estimations state, in about a few years, the hispanic population in america will equal, or outnumber the white population, making the white population a minority. but anywho, i think liz favorito brought this point up some time ago in her live journal when she was applying for scholarships. i think this is a great idea and i believe that in order to gain equality, there must be some sort of white regognition too.
