So I got it, I played it, I beat it and I am currently playing it through again. Was it everything I had waited for? Was it everything I had hoped for? In a lot of respects, yes. Still, I am left with mixed feelings. Proceed for everything:

I thought the game was great from start to finish. Any revisiting to areas from MGS 1 were just amazing... makes you wish they did a total remake on PS3 hardware. The in-game jokes and references were top-notch as well. And I agree with the product placement.

I also liked the control scheme this time around, as I think it fit in with the smoothness of the game. I would say its the best overall MGS game, but not as ground-breaking as the first one. Its the only reason to own a PS3, and to me, the first true next-gen game.

Also, you have to hook it up to your HD-TV, it will be an whole new experience. And on that note, I would really like it if you and Jay came to my new place. At least to see my Transformers themed room, and play some MGS on my TV and theater system.... and we can play it loud. Huzzah!

Yes, it is a gripping game! I played so much that I beat it within two days' time! The Shadow Moses area was incredible. Just searching for all the easter eggs and hidden Codec flashbacks was amazing. It definitely got a lot of stuff right!

You're right about the control scheme. It's definitely smoother and the strafing combat rolls certainly fit in well with the more intense combat.

I've had it hooked up to my HD since Monday and, wow; yeah, it's even more beautiful in hi-def!

Jay and I definitely need to hang out with you soon!
