Well, folks, this is it! My final grades for my final semester! 'Twas a swift four years. I had a lot of fun. It pains me a bit that I am not heading straight into graduate studies, though I look forward to ceasing the long nights and early morn's of reading and typing.
PSYCH271L Intro to Cognitive Science: A
ENVYST101 Nature of Environmental Problems: B+
PHIL430 Literary & Critical Theory: A
ENG463 Terror(ism) and the Novel: A
So... that's it. The grade I'm most surprised about is the Environmental Studies grade. I have no idea how I pulled out a 'B+!' I put in the bare minimum effort and, according to all my assignments, seemed to be headed toward a 'B' at most. Heck, I was even resigned to settle for a 'B-!' I mean, I'm stoked I got a 'B+' but I am still none-the-less puzzled.
I am most happy about my grade for the capstone course (Terrorism and the Novel). According to the two main semester papers (midterm and final), I had a solid 'A-.' Either the routine two page response papers added up or Professor Brown loved my final project paper. I'd rather it be the case of the latter; I enjoyed that final project and feel I produced an excellent piece. With some refinement, 'tis something I would like to pursue getting published....
Literary & Critical Theory ended most stressfully! 'Twas a pleasure of a course and I enjoyed it immensely. However, the final was quite daunting. It was definitely the most comprehensive final I have ever taken and the requirements were a challenge (two paged, single spaced responses). Another course I expected an 'A-' in based on previous work; though I suspect class participation weighed greatly. Out of all the courses, I participated most often and most passionately in Literary & Critical Theory.
I had to wait the longest for Cognitive Science. I was growing worried.... Again, I anticipated an 'A-' and am happy to see an 'A.' That course was much fun and interesting. I liked how it was divided strictly in half betwixt psychology and computer science.
Now I await my gilded certificate!
