Biking through Chernobyl

Mar 30, 2004 10:59

Thanks to epi_lj, we have a journal about riding a motorcycle through Chernobyl.

I've only had time to skim a little but it looks like it's just up my alley. (I have morbid curiosity about radiation poisoning.)

It's fascinating stuff, and it makes me want to go there myself.

howya doin?! I just noticed you had me friended and wanted to say aloha, mapuakahihilani!

(Hello, beautiful flower!) ::::laughing:::no, I'm not cruisin' for ya, just practicing the only Hawaiian word I know. :::laughing::: Thinking of ya and wishing you a good weekend - say howdy-do to Dougness for me, eh?

:::little blue critter wanders off to find someplace shady to take a nap::::

While typing this, I noticed a funky smell...after a short search I found an OLD glass of juice, topped now by a thick covering of fuzzy olive green mold. (Eeewwwww) I'm throwing the whole glass out - it's just too scary to wash. This is pretty wasteful, throwing glassware out when it belongs to my landlord - but I trust you to keep my secret safe.

:::face palm:::

Best wishes, Brahea

Wow; weird! I just the other day found an old flyer from a Slowdive concert that I went to in, like, 1991 or something.

What would you call that kind of music? It's in the same genre as Lush's "spooky" and most Cocteau Twins, and I really like it, and I don't know what to call it. "Guitar wash" is the best I've come up with.

I normally go with "dreampop" or "shoegazers".

So who else would you recommend for that genre? I need more more more.

On an unrelated note: Are you going to Worldcon this year? It'd be cool to meet you IRL.

If you're interested in more cool web links, go to the B3ta newsletter! The Chernobyl link was posted there a while back.
