Oh I am so pissed at my mastercard right now... Back in like August 2007 I noticed a fraudulent charge on my account. Someone had used one of those damn "bonus checks" they send out with CC statements to pay for some phone bill. I immediately called my mastercard up and they told me it hadn't applied yet, so I had to wait at least 10 business days before contacting them! I waited and called back and it was easily taken care of. But then...
On my next statement I had -another- fraudulent check posted to my account, that was used during that 10 days they made me wait! >_< I called them back up and they said they would investigate..
Months later...its still on my account. I call them up again and they had submitted it to the fraud department but it wasn't considered fraud, it should have gone to this other department... They apologized and said they'd take care of it.
Now its January... its still on my account. I call them up again and they say "oops, dunno why thats not taken care of" and put it at an urgent status which means it should be taken care of within 18 days..
Just called..nearly 30 days later..and I get tossed around three different departments, each one making me verify who I am..you know, in case I handed the phone off to a bum while on hold or something.. Finally I end up with fraud again and she can't even find the transaction.. The first person I talked to found it in moments, this one has me on hold for like half an hour... Finally she comes back and says, "The reason this has not been taken care of is because it was closed back in September" ......... Apparently each department has their own staff and none of them share information, because there were a lot of notes about this check with the first department and yet fraud had none at all.
So now, the case is back open... I need to call back in 7-10 days if they don't call me up for further information or remove it from my statement. At this point I'm quite tempted to cancel the whole damn account and get a mastercard with a more reliable company...
