Thanks for this. I'm going to play Netrunner for the first time next week. I haven't bought anything yet, and I'm a bit wary that (if I like it) this will turn out to be a bit of a cash sink. I like the idea that a person can win through sheer skill.

What's the format in Netrunner contests usually? Are there people who always play as runners or corps? Or are people obliged to alternate between the two sides? Is heavy-Ice play / Ice-less play in any way equivalent to playing tight / loose in poker?

If I get into it, I might feel moved to write it up on my own blog, so I might be back if I do.

I have found that compared to the standard fare of most CCGs, the LCG format is quite cheap. Caveat here is that you probably do better getting in as early as you can, because after a while (as in a number of releases, such as the recently completed Genesis Cycle expansion) it can become a little hefty to buy in to ( ... )
