I wondered why there was a "Tommy can you hear me?" in Love Love Essaimu! XD
That blue wrestling outfit (?) is ridiiiiculous XD I watched a few interview videos and such (seeing these posts makes me so curious that I have to look!) and I would have never gathered the drummer was the punk. I guess a romantic drummer is pretty rare, though! Haha :D
Singers who don't write the music get a lot of shit from people, I don't think it's fair! I'd rather have an awesome singer who's a great entertainer than a singer who can't sing and is a dead fish on stage, but writes great songs.
The drummer sings a song here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VniMtNo0aw4 He's really good! I am willing to bet he has quite a punk pedigree though I've yet to research him.
I think what happened is originally there were just the three, Kankuro, Sadawo and the dancing boy with the stud collar (another one I need to stalk research). They did kind of musical stand up comedy (and they have a Theater company). Then they obviously went out and cherry picked the best musicians they could find.
As for Sadawo, his singing and performing skills are so awesome it really doesn't matter at all that he doesn't write. Why go to the trouble of hunting out a Tommy if you don't let him do his thing? And of course Kankuro is his scriptwriter for his movies as well...
Hahahaha muscle punx! Quite good, peppy! I admire drummers who can sing at the same time and still do well x___X I can hardly play guitar and sing at the same time.
The guy with the collar, I think his shtick is that he's a super-masochist? He's the one they hit with the slipper all the time, right? XD I could see that comedy thing.
Yeahh, definitely! And if you can write, why would you waste your good writing on someone who couldn't perform it well enough? A band where everyone has a role is the best.
Well I doubt they'd be able to be as "out there" as they are if it wasn't for Sadawo and Kankuros' star power. Makes it possible for them to bankroll their creativity and means there is no pressure on them to conform.
