Week 13, Thanksgiving at the Caer Schuylkill River

After a long talk with Esther and a whole lot of fussing on the Boggan's part, the three got to sleep comfortably. The next morning, when they wake, she is already fussing over things in the kitchen, and there's a lot of wonderful-smelling things in progress, including pies cooling on the counter and covered dishes stacked and waiting to be taken

Tommy Lee comes downstairs, already dressed in jeans and a T-shirt that reads; "American by Birth, Southern by The Grace of God." He yawns a little and smiles and says; "I'd love some ma'am. Anything I can do t'help out? Dishes, anything like that?"

It's a testament to how busy Esther is that she says, "Yes... you can set the table and get the coffee, it's already brewing. Other than that, I'm just fine. Are they awake yet?"

Peri comes down the stairs in sweats and a loose t-shirt, hair in a ponytail. "I am. I think Ash is showering. I'll shower after breakfast. Mmmm, pancakes. Can I help?"

"No, dear, your young man is doing just fine." She smiles and pats Peri's shoulder. "Get the juice out of the fridge and that's all."

A bit later, Ash comes down the stairs, wearing a long t-shirt that says, Government, like dress, is the badge of lost innocence. His hair has been dried, but is damp enough to wet the t-shirt where it touches. "Sorry I'm so slow. I figured breakfast was sort of formal, so I stopped to get dressed. Can I help with anything?" Obviously Ash's definitions of 'formal' and 'dressed' are a bit different than most other people's.

Esther laughs and leans in to kiss Ash's cheek. "It's all right, sweetling, just go join the others and it'll be up in a moment." She pauses and asks the boys, "Anything either of you won't eat for any reason? I just want to be sure."

Peri giggles. She steals a kiss from Tommy Lee while he's setting the table, and another from Ash as he comes in. "You know me, Nanny, I eat everything put in front of me."

Esther smiles, her gaze turning to Tommy Lee. "Oh, of course! Thank you... I like surprises."

"Well, good ones," Peri teases. "And you get to soften up Mom and Dad a bit for when we come back at the holidays."

TL nods, and gets up, going to the kitchen. He starts bustling about, mixing up some flour and eggs, along with putting some sausage on. "Heh.. don't remind me 'bout that one! Ah may be alright in ever'one's eyes, but lordy am ah afraid o'how that's gonna go."

Ash grins at Tommy Lee. "At least you intend to marry her. In my case, well, I should probably leave out how good of a friend I am with Peri."

TL chuckles to that one; "Or the fact o'where ah'm liable t'be when she's off gettin' her pony.. err.. goat rides."
