So, I went to a dance instruction place for the first time this summer today. It was a more private kind of place, in a woman's house, instead of part of a much larger chain of studios (aka Arthur Murray). Hey I didn't know you were a ballroom dancer. That's really cool! :) How long have you been doing it? Are you thinking of becoming a Pro?

I've been dancing for a year now, since last summer. I started out in Arthur Murray, but I decided that they went too slowly, and focused too much on nuances without working on style, so I work with an independent teacher now. I learned a lot of ballroom there, but it's all pretty limited, compared to my swing. I think I'm the best at cha-cha, out of all the ballroom dances. Right now, I'm really determined to become good enough at swing so that I can teach it, without focusing on other dance styles. I think I'll worry about going pro later :).
