I don't get it either... I set up an appointment for this past Monday at Lenscrafters and the fuckers call me the day of with a "reminder", and let me know that they don't accept BCBS so I'd have to pay the full price of everything (read: Henry didn't show up).
yeah i went to For Eyes, and i think BCBS will cover a regular exam for glasses at least it says so on my vision coverage info from HR, so I think i'll call and find out what the hell the deal is. That just seems ridiculous that they would only cover the exam if it's not for contacts, what difference does it make? gah. damn the man is right!
I tried contacts a few years ago, went through about 5 different Rx before giving up. I have astigmatism which I've heard means that even with the toric lenses you may never have the clarity of glasses.
I believe you are supposed to get your eyes used to contacts gradually and NOT leave them in all day the first day. ISTR my eyes hurting after a few hours. Don't be afraid to take them out for a while. Congrats on getting them in! It does take a lot of getting used to it (those folks that have been doing it for years make it look SO easy). In any case, give them a chance for a while, and realize that your eyes have a lot to get used to. If in a few weeks, though, you still aren't seeing well or are having problems, it's time to go back to the doc.
yeah i have astigmatism in my right eye apparently, so they are ordering a special lens for it which i will most likely get next week. maybe that will help, who knows. my mom has astigmatism too, and she seems to be fine in contacts, so hopefully i can find ones that work.
my eyes are still okay as of 11am... so we'll see how the day goes.
