Tesco is not trying to get my business

I wanted to buy a specific product, Flahavan’s Jumbo Organic oats, which previously I have only found in one place in Oxford, the Tesco‘s on the ring road. This is a ten-minute bicycle ride from my home, so I headed over there. They have been remodelling, it seems, but their Bicycle Parking is still the very worst cycle stands in Oxford

That's annoying, on many fronts. I hate change, especially in my supermarket, and especially especially when my favourite products go missing. My Jumbo Oats are Capricorn Milk Chocolate Licorice Bullets. Le sigh aussi.

What makes the bike parking there that bad? I'm probably still just stuck on 'my god they actually have any bike parking and access at all' but it seems more or less par for the course to me. Better in some ways than the one at Cowley Road library which is up a pretty steep kerb with no let-down edge: ok on a normal bike, hard on a bike with childseat & occupant, really bad with a cargo bike (said cargo bike parks ok in Tesco but of course next to the bike stands not in them).

Are we talking about different bike parks. The Tesco ones are weird triangular frames right up against the wall of the building so you can‘t easily get the frame of ones bike within locking distance of the frame. Maybe there’s another set I’ve missed …?

Don't remember them being weird triangular ones... the ones I'm referring to are at the side of the big Tesco, next to the parent and child parking. That's the side you see first if you're coming off the bike path that runs next to the ring road - you come thru the underpass, cross into the Tesco carpark past all the abandoned trolleys that can't go any further into the underpass because their little wheels get locked, ah bless.

I take it back, we are talking about the same bike parking, it's just that with the big bike and my pashley (which has a stand) I haven't used those triangular things before. But I spotted them today when we went shopping.
