Luceti

character: markofthewise
series: Avatar: The Last Airbender

mental state: Sokka for a long time has become increasingly more comfortable with being in Luceti, which has been a point of contention with him and Katara. Thanks to the presence of Suki (and the rest of the gang), the idea of being stuck in Luceti isn't a terrible one. So he's been comfortable with it and the knowledge that there's no way of escaping under their own power. He's learned to deal with the loss of friends as smoothly as possible. As much as he misses them, he doesn't let the fact he may never see them again get to him. Or at least, he manages to keep that all in check.

The loss of Yue, however, has hit him hard. Having her around forced him to face the fact he still loved her, just not as much or in the same way he did Suki. Their relationship had just pushed beyond being strained and awkward, only for her to vanish while he was off working for the Malnosso. Consequently there's a lot of resentment being stirred up there and even with wedding plans with Suki looming, he's becoming anxious about his place in Luceti. For as much as he's trying to keep his feelings under wraps, he's starting to have a harder time just 'accepting' where he is. There's a lot of things brewing inside him. He feels more distant from Katara, he and Winry are still on bad terms, he misses Yue, and other things are just starting to add up. He's starting to eagerly hope for another mission, just as a chance to get away from it all.

development: He's starting to throw himself into his training more and more. It's becoming less about self improvement and more about just having something he can unleash his frustrations on. Given Okita Souji's style of teaching, he's got a good place he can direct all that. However he's becoming eager to expand his style of fighting some more. He's been working to expand his skillset in other directions, like spending a lot of his time studying alchemy. He isn't even sure yet he'll even be able to use it, but his natural proclivity towards the sciences makes it a favorite subject for him anyway.

Overall, Sokka is definitely moving away from being a goofy kid and being more of an adult. Though his sense of humor isn't gone, he's less inclined to get involved doing ridiculous hijinks. In some ways he's become more self conscious and is a little more mindful of embarrassing himself in stupid ways. All in all he's really begun to see himself as a man now, more than he ever did during his travels with Aang.

plans: Sokka and Suki are talking about marriage, so that's on the table. But that's not likely going to happen anytime soon (and while I like the idea of them talking about it, I'd rather it not happen at all). I'm a little wary about him learning new abilities from other canons, just because this isn't something we see in Luceti much, but I really do like the idea of him sometimes using alchemy. He won't become a master of it, but he'll be able to mix a few tricks into his fighting style or use it to set up traps. Of course him making up his own brand of alchemy would be pretty ace, but actually doing it in practice? Probably not going to happen. Hard to tell what is actually legitimate. And besides, I don't want to take him too far away from his role as the 'normal guy'. Beyond that? No big plans.

character: onebluebamf
series: X-Men Evolution
mental state: Kurt is probably doing the best of all of them. He's still self conscious about his eyes, but he's getting used to the fact that they may very well be permanent. He may not like it, but that's just how the die landed, right? Having Melanie as his girlfriend is helping with that too. He's become pretty dark comfortable with himself lately, though he knowingly avoids New Feathers because he knows his appearance would just freak them out. They have enough on their plate without him freaking them out with his appearance.

His only real issue at present (besides keeping an eye on Gambit) is feeling slightly guilty for even being with Melanie. He knows he'll forget her when he goes home and that he is, in a sense, cheating on Amanda. For as much as he knows all that, he kind of needs the sense of acceptance and normalcy he's getting out of it. But he also feels bad because he doesn't want to stay in Luceti and he knows Melanie would be fine if she did. Maybe she's more invested in the relationship than he is? And heck, he's keeping her from having a normal boyfriend. So it all feels a teensy bit selfish to him.

development: Kurt is sort of transforming into more of an adult as well. It's not quite as pressing in the same sense as Sokka, but more that he's taking his role as being X-Men more seriously. Part of this is because Ororo is around again, part of it is being wary of Gambit, but mostly it's because he doesn't want to be caught being so utterly out of his element like he was in the draft. If he ever gets called out there again, he doesn't want to be a burden. So he's really taken his training up a notch. Beyond that, he's quit the Brigade so he can stay focused on that (and partly because he was feeling like such the odd man out given his own issues.)

plans: I actually don't have much for him, since I kind of go with the flow with him. He is probably my biggest CR hog now, since I think he's overtaking Sokka in that sense. I might consider getting him a new tutor for swordplay. I figure by now he's probably reaching his limit for what Mikage can offer, so he might need to go find a master that can help him improve. Admittedly I'm tempted to have him hit up Jack Sparrow for this, despite their past differences. Also, I need to learn how to have him not flirt with pretty girls. Kurt, you're taken. That's not allowed anymore.

character: gerudoking
series: The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess

mental state: Bitter. Angry. Wrathful. Normal Ganondorf. Overall he's growing resentful of having been trapped in Luceti so long. His recent humiliation on a mission (resulting in his injuries) have forced him to acknowledge he is not as all powerful as he has grown so being confident in being. This is good for him, but bad for his foes, since he's refocusing on improving himself in ways he hasn't done since his youth.

Beyond that, he's also starting to acknowledge that some of the things he has done in his past weren't quite so justified. A dose of the "Mask of Truth" forced him to admit to things bluntly, as opposed to the usual deceits and twisted truths he tells himself. Though it's far from convincing him from settling down and becoming a different person, he is slightly reconsidering his priorities. But that is also mixed with the fact he's starting to look at Luceti and this world and realizing that ruling one world might not be enough for him. Not when all of existence is at his fingertips.

development: Ganondorf has really mellowed out. Now that he is less concerned on waiting for returning home, he's starting to think of the bigger picture. Manipulate the system, find a way to surpass the Malnosso and become ruler of this world. Those simply waiting to return home have set their sights too low. But beyond doing that, he's taking measures to keep things as amicable as possible between himself and those of his world. After coughing up everything to Midna, she's kind of his priority.

plans: I hope to motivate him to the point of recruiting allies within Luceti. Those that are hungry for power and with their sights a bit higher than just getting home. Those who want revenge on the Malnosso (or the same thing he wants) are the kind that will be easy to manipulate. But he intends to do this from the shadow and in the forms of phantoms, so he keeps his public image clean. On top of that, he's starting to reach the point where he may make an arrangement with Midna to undo her curse. But it remains to be seen on how long that will take.

One other thing I'd like to play with is his chest wound. I've headcanoned that it won't ever heal naturally, but it would be cool for him to strike up some CR with someone who would invest the time and effort to actually get some real CR with him and then proceed to help him heal from it. (Though if they ever do, then there goes Ganon's one major weak point.)

character: itsaxingthing
series: Fullmetal Alchemist

mental state: Ling is pretty settled in Luceti, for the most part, but there's a sense of isolation and being alone that's present there. He's almost always had Ran Fan and Fu following him his whole life. And even when he was separated from them, he had Greed and his wailing souls to 'keep him company'. After sharing his body for half a year, Ling is still adapting to a sort of 'loneliness' because he did grow used to sharing with Greed and even grow used to it. The loss of Greed and Fu, both people who know Ling better than anyone else ever did (or ever will probably) is still a huge blow that's hanging over him. Even though he accepts why they did what they did, it's weighing heavily on him how much others are sacrificing for his sake.

Of course he's keeping this all to himself, hidden under his smiles and trolling. He's had to give up Greed being gone, but he hasn't told anyone about Fu yet. Among his CR, he doesn't really have any close bonds, though he and Ed are starting to be a little more open around each other. He really does consider Ed a close friend, despite the way he acts around him. After all, he put himself at the risk of being Armstrong's friend just for Ed's sake. That is the measure of a friend!

development: Not much to speak of here. A lot of the above is extrapolating on stuff we don't get to see, because his canon kind of abruptly ends after losing both Fu and Greed. But he's shown to take these kind of sacrifices pretty hard (in those two cases and Ran Fan losing her arm). He's increasingly uncomfortable with the idea of others having to give up so much for his sake. Beyond that, nothing has changed for him. He's still relatively new.

plans: He has Ran Fan coming in hopefully, so that should alleviate some of his isolation problems. Beyond that, I intend for him to get kidnapped in a month or so. At which point he and his Philosopher's Stone will be combined, effectively turning him into a Homunculus. I intend to leave him like that for awhile and let him struggle with that. I don't have it all worked out in my head yet, but I think it should make for some interesting and fun developments.
