While moving through the different areas, I came across what appeared to be a mass evacuation. Cars clogged the streets, and some people were fleeing their vehicles and climbing over fences to reach shopping centers. In history, it is the celebration of the birth of the Christian Messiah, Jesus of Nazareth. In Japan, a more secular country, it is merely a celebration of friends, family, and the winter season.

Malls? ...Ah yes, the very large shopping centers! I see what you mean. This was just one small store, the chaos would certainly multiply in an area of many small stores pushed close together.
