So, as anyone who's ever dined with me probably knows, I like food. A lot. It follows that the end of last week and the beginning of this one have been some of the most glorious days of my life. Truly, it was an epic adventure delving into the depths of all things culinary.
Saturday, I kicked things off at the Dublin Irish Festival with a big, juicy ear of roast corn. Naturally, I got to paint my own butter on, so I had one buttery ear of corn. Following that, as I was exploring the expanses of the festival, I stumbled across a sign that read "Pizza | Pizza Chips". Thinking it a usual pizza joint, I continued walking until the inevitable realization of words read and the double take that followed.
"Pizza chips?! What the hell are pizza chips?"
So, I got some pizza chips. They're little, fried balls of pizza dough, and they tasted amazing with the accompanying marinara sauce. Ellie and Kelsey helped me finish those off, and gave similar reviews. Tony showed up after we were done eating these, and I ran and gave him a sweet ninja high five. He kinda walked by me, but the effort was there, so it's okay.
After walking around for a bit, I happened to notice a woman walking by carrying one of my favorite snacks: Candy-coated roasted almonds. There didn't appear to be any such vendor in sight, so I ran back and asked her where she found such a tasty treat, and she was more than happy to point me in the right direction. I got some, and, as I remembered, they fucking rocked.
Following the consumption of those delicious, sugary treats, it was about dinner time. Ellie had earlier mentioned the existence of a breadbowl soup place, and it sounded pretty good, so we hunted that down. I got a breadbowl full of Irish stew, and it was pretty damn good. The flavor was very different, but in a good way.
Later on that night, after watching the Prodigals perform (and rocking out hardcore), I was sporting an incredibly dry mouth, and found a smoothie stand, where I got a $5 smoothie, and Kelsey argued with the guy who was working the stand about how $5 was too much for a smoothie. I enjoyed my smoothie in the meantime.
Finally, to round out the evening, Ellie got some chocolate covered cheesecake, of which I had a couple of bites, and I can safely say it was amazing.
Being that it's getting late, I'm going to stop the narration for now, but I will give you all the breakdown, so you can imagine how glorious this journey was:
