I've returned from my work trip to Berlin. I wish I could say how much fun I had exploring the city, but I unfortunately spent my one day off (and several work days) sick with some sort of stomach thing. Oh-well. I still managed to have some fun. I think the best part was ending up at a Nigerian bar on my last night with an African coworker.

Our second attempt at infusing bourbon with bacon has turned out much better than the first. Using boar bacon also added a nice edge. We also found a great re-imagined Old Fashioned involving maple syrup, bacon bourbon, bitters and a twist of orange.

I'll have to make another batch.

Back from a week in paradise. Returning home is both a relief and somewhat disappointing.

Nothing like a vacation in Cape May on the beach with cool weather and rain. I did see Star Trek, though. And, of course, a rainy day on the beach beats any day in the office.
