2. Oh, he's very independent and pretty sure of himself. He's always the one doing all the controlling and influencing of others.
3. In his case, Facilier is dependent on his "friends" from the Other Side. His so-called "friends" are spirits of a darker persuasion in the "Disneyfied" version of voodoo and they're the ones who granted Facilier his magic and shadowy abilities. Yet at the same time Facilier is indebted to them, as they don't give such powers away for free. So whether he likes it or not, he is dependent on these malevolent spirits, and they can swiftly turn on him if he fails to please them or uphold any contracts they've agreed upon. Most of the time Facilier acts like a confident salesman with the spirits, but beneath it all he is terribly fearful of inciting their wrath. What with how evil and unforgiving the spirits are, Facilier sure doesn't want to give them any reason to drag his soul away to the Other Side...
