NIGHT 54: Forest

Feb 12, 2011 03:09

[From here.]

Edward knew exactly where they were going, exactly how they were going there, and how it would end when they finally did. It helped that he wasn't slamming his foot down on the gas pedal of an Aston Martin before collapsing into the forest, but even standing still wasn't enough to prepare him for a new wave of the nausea he had repetitively gotten on his journey with Venom. The forest was still dark, still lit with the dark lines of blue-green that were illuminated by the sky, and still covered in pine needles and rocks.

It probably hadn't been the most comfortable landing for Stefan considering he had rocks underneath him and a rock landing on top of him. It also wasn't comfortable for Edward, whose chest landed on Stefan's knee. He rolled off the others body with a muffled groan, right onto the damn cue whose shiny fiberglass coating cut right into his back.

Not his best moment.

"Not as bad as I remembered," he huffed his lie, pulling the cue out from under him and rolling it away from him so he could sit up without losing an eye. The ring was still on his finger, which he supposed he should have been thankful for, though the gem was obviously gone with nary a shard left.
