Yep. Still the only one here. He supposed that could be a good thing. That meant there would be less people to notice the teenage boy strolling into the bathroom and the schmuck in tights that came out two minutes later. He was all for less people noticing that.

What had they been talking about before they'd reached Kratos's room? That was right--the monsters last night. Rapunzel's description hadn't really sounded like any monster she'd met here--at least, not as small as she'd made it sound. Peter's friend had been a different matter.
"What you described might have been a machine--a tool." It didn't sound like a gun, either, so there was that. "I don't know what else it could have been. If the woman was holding it her hands, it probably wasn't a monster."
She paused momentarily to shine her flashlight down the hall, faintly illuminating the stairwell at the very end. "That's the one we're aiming for."

She then listened to Soma go back to the topic they had been on before. "Are you sure?" she asked, wide-eyed that something like that could be a tool. Who would use a tool that was so destructive and so horrifying? "I guess the roar it made didn't really sound like any animal I've heard before, but I figured it was just something I hadn't come across before." A brief pause. "Which is most things," she added with a short sigh.
They followed Soma's flashlight beam to the end of the hall, and thankfully, they neither saw nor heard nothing else unusual before heading up the stairs.
