If he were ashamed, then he would've let the office rumors get to him years ago. Hell, he almost dared any witnesses to start spreading chest groping rumors around the institute. Badd didn't simply turn and let Byrne follow him. Instead he took his partner by the arm and pulled him gently down the hallway towards his room, maintaining contact with him the entire time. "It's just down here." There was some old story he'd heard, something about a guy bringing his wife back from the underworld with his back to her the entire time and turning around when they were nearly at the surface to find his doubt had made her disappear.

Well. This Orpheus was going to make sure his wife stayed with him every step of the way.
