There was probably something ironic about a lone human walking around, holding only a pillow case and a flashlight, worrying about other people, some of them being vampires. But, hell, he couldn't stop himself. He'd worried a lot about every human in Mystic Falls with the influxes of vampires, dicks like the Mayor included. He'd worried about kids like Elena and Jeremy who had no right to be involved in this kind of supernatural crap. At least some of Alaric's fears about them were quelled at home - at home, Elena had a super-powered boyfriend that could be trusted to keep her and her brother safe. Two vampires, really, if he was alone. Alaric tried to never mention Damon's obvious infatuation with Elena to... anyone ( ... )
