Night 56: F21-30 Hallway
Searching the room for a second time after the doors unlocked turned out to be a good idea, as Erika unearthed something very curious. She could only imagine that it belonged to her current or former roommate, though Erika wouldn't have bothered to ask around anyway. A gun was something that was too useful to give away. What did they say in the West, "finders keepers"? That's how she was going to treat her prize.
Unfortunately for Erika, her prize ended up being less than useful as the detective continued to mess around with it. It was not a real gun, she quickly deduced, after attempting to take it apart and check for chambers or bullets or anything that actually made a gun useful. On the side was a logo, "S.E.E.S" emblazoned on the side, but nothing else to suggest that the gun was real. A toy, then? It looked too ... professional to be a mere toy, so the only conclusion Erika could really draw was that whomever had owned this gun was a enthusiast who either wanted fakes or couldn't own real ones. That was more evidence in favor for the gun being Yukari's, unless Julia wasn't an American; it wasn't like Erika had asked if she came from that country. But she supposed it didn't really matter, since Yukari was gone and Julia would likely follow suit. The gun was still too interesting to just let go, though, so Erika decided to throw it in with the rest of her items for tonight. But first, a test.
Pointing the "gun" at the wall, she pulled the trigger and heard an extremely unsatisfying click.
Naturally, the "gun" was empty, so it wouldn't have fired, but that click... It was not like the third click that Erika swore she heard when the doors unlocked. It was very quiet, quiet enough to almost elude her senses, but her senses didn't lie to her. Something had opened up, but she wasn't sure what it was yet. She could definitely rule out the possibility of the fake gun somehow clicking, at least, so Erika finally threw it in her bag and made her way out of the door, intent on reaching her usual meeting place with Sync quickly. Hopefully, she would have more important matters to deal with instead of a click or a fake gun.
