"He wasn't quite what I was expecting." Some things had been exactly what she'd expected -- blind stubbornness that ran headlong into a door marked naïveté and only avoided it by virtue of that being a one-way journey. One that everyone made at some point. It had sparked a fire in Fey, and her understudy.

Good questions, and he'd been conquering obvious panic to ask them. But she'd expected a little more polish from the man who could take down Redd White and Damon Gant (and who else could have been the attorney in whatever had happened with Prosecutor von Karma?)

"I think it's good they arrived together." Like you and me.

"Mr. Wright is back, too?" Ema gasped, surprised. Whatever had happened to bring Mr. Edgweworth back to his senses had obviously been used on the attorney, then. However, unless Ema misremembered (which was possible), the two had been brainwashed and released at different times. Had they met somewhere outside of the institute, then? It was too convenient to be a coincidence.

Either way, Lana was right; it was better that they'd arrived together. Even in the short time she'd worked with Mr. Wright, she could tell that Mr. Edgeworth meant a lot to him. Landel's Institute was a lot less scary with familiar faces by your side. Ema nodded a little, resolutely, as she kept pace with Lana and rounded the corner out of the women's block.
