Of course Stefan would've checked up on Wally. No surprises there after the guy had had a run-in with Damon, a fact Stefan no doubt had learned from Alaric. Damon's interest in Wally remained, but it hadn't been enough for him to go out of his way today to actually find him. Especially not since Rick had solved that little issue with ( Read more... )

[ From here.]Badd shone the flashlight up the stairs as they entered. After a moment's thought he also checked the dark corners, the walls, and the ceiling just to make sure no gigantic bugs were hiding somewhere that a human couldn't ( ... )

Byrne listened hard as they went along, trying his best to absorb every bit of Badd's tale without a word. Sheesh, there was so much to hear and so little time to take it in. So Little Thief was found by Kay, Cohdopia went into war and split in two--seriously?--Kay took up the Yatagarasu name, von Karma got--woah wait slow down--Calisto got into Interpol, everything became tense with Coachen and some power struggle, the video tape from ten years ago popped up again, and Badd held Edgeworth at gunpoint. Yes, these were a lot of details to absorb here. He might need to ask for some more explana...

--W-wait a second! Badd did what now?!

"Wha--?!" The prosecutor stopped halfway up the stairs and flipped around to face Badd with an expression to match his shocked tone. "Woah, hold it! Badd, what did you just--? You did what?"

Badd twisted his glance away and pulled at his lollipop stick. "It was two in the morning," he grunted, trying to defend himself. "Nobody should have been in the building, let alone the office. He walked in before I was finished and I didn't have any way of getting out without him seeing my face." Edgeworth had handled it rather maturely, too. For a man who'd lost his father to a gunshot in the darkness, he'd treated Badd like an insubordinate waiter rather than a potential killer.

Badd shrugged, hoping he could just move on with the story now. "I got the card back, and I got the video back later on. Nobody was hurt." Except Buddy. But that hadn't been on him.

It wasn't like Byrne didn't understand Badd's reasoning, and he knew he would never have gone and shot Edgeworth, either. But the fact of the matter was Badd held a prosecutor up at gunpoint. A well known one, at that! He did something incredibly dangerous all by himself without any sort of backup to make sure he wouldn't get caught. That was practically the whole point of the Yatagarasu having three legs! If there was anything Byrne would love to say right now, it was a million things on how dangerous and stupid and reckless and unsafe Badd had been ( ... )
