As tempting as it was to return to the cat she'd discovered earlier, Lily wanted to know more. The map listed tons of locations, most with names that meant little to her, but after some wandering her sharpened senses picked up a scent, something familiar in the way that dreams are familiar, something with a draw that she felt powerless to resist. It wasn't the dark voice, which was oddly quieter during the day, but a light and wonderful gravity. A scent she hadn't fully known she'd longed for. Lily rushed for it, almost stumbling as she pushed open the door. Light, again. That pale light in the sun room. Rapunzel had been surprised to learn that the patients were allowed to roam free for the next two shifts. Granted, it wasn't worth much if they couldn't wander, say, out the front gates, but it was more than she had been expecting out of the staff here, at least. And now that she knew she could go anywhere, there was one place Rapunzel definitely wanted to check out today.

The greenhouse was smaller than the ones her books had described. A lot less opulent, too. But the basic idea looked the same - a glass building made to keep plants warm and, well, green. That was the most important thing, and from what Rapunzel could see, it was doing a pretty good job at that, even with all the snow outside. The green of the plants drew her toward the building, and the scent of the blossom spectrum pulled her through the door. She couldn't help a deep breath through the nose (as someone she knew once put it) as she entered. Wow. Ippo had been so right to suggest coming here. This was definitely part of what she had been missing since her arrival ( ... )
