[from here]It did occur to him that he did need to find a partner for the night. A baseball bat and a flashlight wouldn't cover him, and he could already hear the scolding words of Sora and Kairi-as well as the lingering taunts of the Shadow from the other night. (Or several nights ago. He still didn't know how long it was and it wasn't like this place had a habit of changing.) If anything, he wanted to deny that Shadow's words more than he wanted to be okay for Sora and Kairi. As much as he cared for his friends, there was a stubborn part of him a mile wide. But then again, they probably wouldn't mind him being contrary against the Shadow, as long as it benefited him in some way ( ... )
