here ]As Erika approached the meeting spot, she was pleased to see that she was, indeed, first to reach there. This was to be expected: Erika was closest to this particular hallway and she could have given the others a minute's head start and still probably beat them while walking at a leisurely pace. But Erika had hurried to get here and

Well then.
Harvey had figured he'd be one of the first of the group to make it here, but he hadn't imagined he'd be the very first. He was sure that some of the others were in the closer patient block, so maybe they were just taking their sweet time. Or taking care with deciding what to bring with them; that was a possibility too ( ... )

Dent was already here, and he'd also come prepared: Indy noticed the gleam of an axe leaned up against the wall. As he got closer, he also saw the gun wedged into the waistband of Dent's military pants. Good to know he wasn't the only one anticipating trouble.
"Evening," he said simply, joining Dent on one side of the hall.

Two axes, a handgun, a whip, and a fucking fedora. S.T. felt less like he was overcompensating for his lack of spandex and superpowers. All he had was a two-foot length of pipe and a spray bottle of a highly basic liquid. Everyone knew what acid did to eyes, but bases hurt just as much. Wasn't strong enough to dissolve anything other than dead skin, but he hadn't brought it along for a little exfoliation pow-wow.
He was still limping slightly as he walked up, and didn't try to hide it. Dent only had half a face. They could deal with a taxi driver with the usual bad attitude and a trick knee.
"Anyone know what we're heading into? Least it shouldn't be too crowded." The drug trials, for all that he'd scoffed, would be a full house. Give people a choice and they dumped anything they could get into their bodies. Limit them, and they smuggled extra creamers out from IHOP in their underwear just to prove they could.

He followed the two flashlight beams until they crossed something Scott had been hoping to avoid seeing for at least another day - that one chick with the blue hair.
Scott froze, hoping that he hadn't been seen in the shadows. Then, ever so carefully, he edged along the wall, trying not to cross paths with either of the beams he had just been following. And then, when he felt he had enough room, he made a dash for his own group, a little further up the hall. Doom could wait another day, goddammit.
As it turned out, Scott arrived in perfect synchronization with Peter, complete with inadvertent arm flailing as he scooted over to hide behind Indy and Harvey. For a few moments, he was too busy checking behind him to hear what S.T. or Peter were saying, up until the last bit. "Was it about how Depth Charge needs to hurry his big robot butt over here so we can get teleporting already?" Scott responded, not reacting to the spider beluga anecdote at all.

"That's big ex-robot butt to you," Depth Charge retorted, stepping out of the shadows of the hall and into the circle of waiting explorers. He nodded, briefly, to the others. "Ready when you are."
He'd figured he was pretty early, based on the sort of traffic he'd not run into in the hallways, but it looked like everyone else had somehow managed to make it to the meeting point before him. Awkward, much. Maybe if he hadn't stopped to talk to the Scarecrow... but there was no way he could have left without saying a word to the guy. He'd had a right to know where his roommate was running off to and possibly not coming back from ( ... )

At least everyone was on time and the only injuries were to Peter's pride. Which had been asking for it.
"Please keep your hands and feet inside the coaster until the ride comes to a complete and final stop," he droned, in a nasal accent that would put any bored Nantasket Beach teenager to shame. Then he waited until he felt at least five hands touch down, and skidded the ruby along the untaped end of his pipe like lighting a strike-anywhere match.
