With Sync long gone from this hallway, chances were they would be able to make a quick trip over to the Sun Room. Guy knew that every second was precious, so even if his mind was still running through options of where the God-General may have gone with three other people in tow, he knew that he needed to shelve that train of thought.

Instead, it was best to focus on the two people he was with; people who deserved his attention far more. As he took the lead, he glanced back at Claude and Anise with a somewhat weary smile.

"So, what did you guys think of Aguilar's announcement? I wonder how many people are going to be heading to the medical wing tonight..." It sounded nuts, and yet he couldn't blame anyone who went to that length to earn a weapon or a pin. Most everyone was driven to making foolhardy decisions after staying here long enough. Here they were following a clue from Landel, after all.

Anise didn't have any objections to going through the Sun Room either. She'd been attacked plenty of times both there and outside, so there wasn't any reason to think of one path as being safer than the other ( ... )

When Guy brought up Aguilar's announcement, Claude frowned and thought about what he'd heard earlier tonight. His speech had definitely been without the theatrical flair Landel usually had, but it had still been passionate. He'd sounded truly angry over how their previous captors had handled the Institute. But if he wanted Claude to think the military was somehow doing them favors, the bastard had another thing coming ( ... )
