They hadn't been given much of a choice, really. Either follow the soldiers and stay out of trouble, or struggle and get dragged off by force. The choice was obvious, really - struggle. There was no way Rapunzel was going to go anywhere with soldiers at night without some kind of fight, especially not after what Scarecrow had told her about experiments and brainwashing.
Unfortunately for Rapunzel, her anger was not enough to overpower trained military guards. She had pulled and pushed and demanded the men tell her where Lenalee was until one of them had literally twisted her arm until she couldn't take it anymore. She was assured that this was nothing to do with experimentation and the like. She and Tsubaki were just "needed upstairs for something". They wouldn't be hurt if they cooperated. So, with much reluctance and glaring after that, Rapunzel had followed.
Now, the roommates found themselves in a cream-coloured room where a long, glass table sat as a massive, elegant centrepiece. The lights remained on for the time being, but the nightly intercom announcement was beginning by this point, so that would not be the case for much longer. Landel's voice was gone again, replaced by a man with a foreign accent. Aguilar, she guessed? She didn't see the point in him reading off so many pleasantries when he clearly didn't mean them - especially not when no one would have believed him even if he had tried. And then they moved into the second half of the announcement, which became a little bit clearer, if no less frustrating. She got the feeling that Aguilar cared about his prisoners about as much as Gothel had cared about her "daughter".
Rapunzel wasn't sure what the soldier were waiting for, but she knew was she was waiting for. As soon as the intercom announcement ended, she felt a familiar warmth gathering in her scalp. Swiftly and surely enough, a golden glow spread from the roots of her hair down past the tips, following her hair as it grew and spiralled into a large pile at her feet. She looked back over to Tsubaki with an expression caught between an awkward smile and extreme apprehension. Surprise? She couldn't quite bring herself to say it out loud in these circumstances.
She moved a little closer to Tsubaki once that was finally over and done with. "Has anything like this ever happened before?" she whispered to the other girl, wondering when the soldiers would say something to them.
