Night 57: Hall of Faith

Anise boldly took the first step into the room...
... and promptly lost her footing. Her leading foot slid out from under her, causing her to land hard on her rear. She let out a shriek as she fell, but it didn't quite end there. She found herself continuing to slide down, carried by countless pebbles beneath her. In an effort to stop sliding, Anise turned her body around and lay flat against the incline, pressing her arms, knees, stomach, and her weapon into the uneven ground to slow herself down.
Finally, she stopped moving, but she remained flat on the ground for several moments after, fearing that too much movement would cause her to slip away again. "Ow... what's the big idea, putting something like this right at the entrance!?" she whined. Carefully moving one hand to her pocket, she retrieved her miniature flashlight and turned it on, both to show the others where she was and that she was okay, and also to see where they were. Mostly, she just hoped they weren't going to slide into her and knock her farther down the incline.
