The injection site hadn't stopped itching. In fact, it felt a little warm. If it were a regular wound Taura would have called it infected, and gone for an antibiotic patch and some synergine to chase the distraction away. It didn't look too bad. She'd finished her dinner before she'd noticed that she wasn't hungry any more. At least it wasn't making her sick; that was a hell of a liability in combat.

Really, it was the not-knowing that was getting to her. What had they given her, and why? What had happened last night? There might not be any more answers over in the Medical Wing than there were here, but there was only one way to find out. She stretched, and started to strap her shuriken over her shoulder. Which still itched.

Maybe she ought to try healing this before she left. She pulled out the little green stone and held it over the pinprick. The light made it look like her entire shoulder was turning green, but the little dot closed over. Trapping whatever still felt wrong inside her own skin. Eurgh. All of her ( ... )
