Night 58: Front Desk (Medical Wing)

[from here]Following Soma into the medical wing, Kratos closed the door quietly behind them. The lobby area looked as much as it had the previous night, although he did not stop again to draw comparisons between it and the Elemental Research Academy. His awe and curiosity had both been satisfied, so now it was simply business as usual. This part of ( Read more... )

"I wonder if it's okay for the military to just let us know where the Major is, though," Anise mused as she entered the room, thinking deeply. "I mean, it wouldn't be weird if some people decided to go interrogate him - or even try to kill him. You know, to get back at the army." Then again, Aguilar didn't seem like the type of guy to half-ass anything. Maybe Harrington had his own guards standing by in case something happened.

Heck, maybe the whole thing was a trap to begin with.

In any case, they were in the Medical Wing now. This seemed to be a front desk area, with nothing out of the ordinary except...

'Are you a good patient?' The harshly scrawled words fell under Anise's flashlight, and she flinched a little as she read them. "... Creepy," she muttered, then looked back up at Gumshoe. Gumshoe made sure to stay close to the girl as they entered the Medical Wing, using the light provided by her to check if anything might be lurking in the darkness.

If anything, it'd just make things worse ( ... )

"Hee hee. You sound like a real pacifist," Anise commented with a light giggle. She could see where the detective was coming from, but she wasn't sure she could agree completely. When fighting against an enemy that powerful, while being outnumbered that bad, it was best to take every shot at them that could possibly be made. Any soldier would probably agree.

Besides - and there was no way she was saying this out loud - sometimes a little petty revenge felt really good. And all of the bastards running the institute deserved everything that came to them, whether it was the leader or some common soldier.

Even while entertaining such dark thoughts, Anise kept up a cheerful demeanor as she looked around the room. It didn't look like they were going to find anything around the front counter, so after doing another sweep with her flashlight, Anise led the way to what looked like the main hallway of the medical wing.
