There was that clicking sound again. Damnit. Whatever it was that was stalking him or just hanging around, it needed to give up and go away before it got a bullet in the face. Not that Byrne really wanted to waste precious ammunition on what was probably a small, worthless creature, but he was pissed off and the threat sounded good in his head.
Double damnit that Badd hadn't been in his room when Byrne had gotten there. Why, of all nights, did he have to be pitching his two year old tantrums now?! Forget the fight they'd had, okay? It--it didn't matter when their lives were at stake here!
And Badd had never told him he'd had other plans, anyway. Well, not like he told him anything period, but there hadn't been anything on the bulletin board, either.
