When the doors unlocked, Rita was ready. She had her backpack on, a flashlight in one hand, and her newly-acquired sword whip in the other. It looked like that was her 'reward' for being a test subject last night. Hmph. She'd have to thank the army by snapping those blades into a few of their faces.
What the mage wasn't ready for, however, was the piercing alarm that sounded soon after the night began, or the strange pink light that filled the interior of the building.
Even getting past all that, there was something else that was different. Something in the air... It felt like magic. Was it aer? Mana? Whatever it was, Rita had a feeling she could use it. A cramped patient room wasn't really the place for testing spells, however, so she left the room and began to make her way toward the meeting point. She'd experiment with her abilities along the way.
