FUBAR had more hard-edged consonants, but that was reserved for when the shit hit the fan in any situation. He'd gotten used to dirty looks for using either, due to the associations with chemical weapons, guerrilla warfare, and other non-environmentally friendly activities. Not that anyone had ever been able to prove the Army had done anything other than turn existing acronyms into a catechism for terrified guys. Swear all you want, just strap on your guns
