S.T was navigating by a fingertip on the wall and the slight breeze of a functioning HVAC system. The halls were dark again. Completely empty, too. He was out early. And he was still thinking.
Something so fallible, he'd said. So that talk about a device had been true? Freaky. Maybe he really wasn't human. Replaced by a machine

More specifically, Castiel wanted to go through the front door and try to head down the road toward Doyleton. He'd been there last night, but had only gotten a glimpse of the town after dark before morning had caught up with him. He shot the angel a look. "You even got to ask? I'm not suddenly gonna go rusty."
He got maybe he hasn't gone on a real hunt for awhile and it killed him to think of the Impala and her arsenal just...off somewhere, but it was pretty much like riding a bicycle, the whole gig thing. Lock-pick a door, kick it down, know where to shank a ghoul if one came knocking. Did make him wonder how much Castiel knew or just how close he'd been dogging him in the future. Must've been something, the whole introductions thing. Dean couldn't see Future Him being any more open to angels and Heaven than he'd been a month ago.

He could think more about that later. For now, Dean was here, and so getting outside would hopefully be a simple matter.
No longer having any reason to hesitate, Castiel took a left as they reached the end of the hall.
