If he ever made it home, he was never bitching at any of the girls who didn't want to do night ops alone again. It was different when you knew there were things out there in the darkness.

Turning around the corner, Hakkai came out into the main hallway. It had been easy to check for danger in the narrower room block hallways. Out here, however, he was more exposed, and he tensed, slipping into a guard stance without even thinking about it. Ready to fight, if something came. His stomach was in knots, too - he was beginning to think this meeting was a bad idea. Too revealing. He could turn back now, and go wait for Carter. He hadn't given a name. But at the same time - he was curious. Curious to know if this other person had any news of home. And he really did hate to give up, too.
