Nightshift 29, Radio Broadcast #1

Jan 20, 2008 14:08

The radios of Landel's all clicked on in unison. Instead of the usual tinny sound of whatever musical selection had caught the nighttime DJ's fancy, there was silence interrupted by bouts of breathy static. As though someone were breathing heavily into a microphone. This went on for minutes, nothing but airwaves and hoarse static sounds that burst forth from the speakers. Then finally, a voice. Angry, harsh and cold with fury.

You crossed the line, Martin. All bets are off, are rules are abandoned, all genteel courtesy has been choked and killed and left by the roadside to die.

No more games.

I'll be coming for you.

There were no words of advice, no address to the patients at all. And it seemed that for now, there would be none. The radios clicked off in unison, leaving their speakers silent once more.
