Nightshift 30: Main Hallway, 2-West

After passing the section of the hallway overlooking the Sun Room and its inhabitants, Jade knew that he wasn’t far from his goal. It’s almost felt like months since he’d last stepped foot in this part of the building, but now wasn’t exactly the time to reminisce about the good old days. No, his laundry list for the evening was exceptionally long, and the slower he paced himself the longer it’d take for him to complete them all, if at all.
But even if that was so, the colonel found his thoughts wandering over to his comrades anyway. Finding Luke at some point in the evening was favorable, but somewhat improbable amongst the whole scheme of things. The redhead always had the knack of getting himself into trouble and then brushing off any kind of help offered to him. Most people would find that noble and selfless.
Jade just found it obnoxious and a tad bit annoying.
He reached the end of the hallway in practically no time, making a sharp turn to his left.
