here. ...Yes, Sam is indeed in the women's bathroom. :| ]
Sam had thought earlier about getting the material he needed from the men's bathroom-an obvious choice-but it'd occurred to him that that meant he'd have to carry those things all the way here. It wasn't a far walk and it wasn't much to carry, but it would still occupy both his hands which meant he wouldn't have one free to draw his weapon if necessary. All things considered, it'd be better if he could cut down on his travel time, no matter how minor.
So. Women's bathroom it was. He doubted anyone would actually be in there during the night, but if by some chance there was someone, he'd...well, he'd always been pretty good at apologizing profusely and then backing up really fast. When it came down to it, he'd rather risk having to explain himself out of a horribly embarrassing situation than risk getting killed.
Pausing first to listen for anything coming from inside, Sam pushed opened the door. A quick scan through the stalls let him know that the area was clear.
Okay. That was good. For now.
He shut the door to make sure nothing crept in on him from the outside, then aimed his flashlight beneath the sink. Knocking that thing loose was gonna make some noise, but there was no way around it. He set the flashlight down and braced against the edge of the counter before giving the side of the pipe a hard kick. He winced at the twinge in his still bad knee, but ignored it long enough to knock the pipe a bit loose. Enough, anyway, for him to go underneath and finish the job with the butt of his gun and a hell of a lot of struggling.
Getting wet, also unavoidable, but at least he wasn't being rained on like last night, underneath those sprinklers. The pipe clattered to the tile floors. He picked it up and eyed it for a moment. Probably good, right? Wasn't like he'd ever done this before, so he only had Skuld's word to go on. In any case, he only needed the one. What he was looking for wasn't large at all.
Grabbing his flashlight, he turned and left, letting the door shut behind him.
