[From

He'd come through this hallway a couple times before and it was usually as far as he'd gotten into the institute at night. Usually he just stopped - he didn't particularly want to find out how far the corruption went or

There, the stairs, and to his right, the crowds of people. It was becoming so routine that Harvey was even more resentful of the place than he'd been at the start. He hadn't completely taken it seriously at first, after all.
Now, the question. Did he try and recruit someone like he had last night or just go solo this time? Lana hadn't exactly slowed him down, but there was no certainty that he would get as lucky now. He could easily end up with some moron that would make his night more of a misery than it already was...

Bingo! The stairs were straight ahead. That was the good news. The bad news was there were a lot of other people hanging around the hall, too. Normally, she wouldn't give any of them a second thought, but tonight, Harley saw them as potential competition.
As far as she had seen, all the goodies were stashed away upstairs. If this many people were lingering around already, that must have meant there were people running around up there, too. Stealing all her things before she could steal them. And that wasn't fair! She needed to hurry on upstairs before all the fun things were taken!
Of course, that'd be a lot easier if there weren't people in his way. Like this guy. She hurried toward the stairs, ready to barrel over push aside the bozo if she had to. "Hey! Move it or lose it, buddy boy."

"Wait a second there, lady," he said with a snarl. "I was here first." What was she in such a hurry for, anyway? Actually, it seemed like she was probably heading for the stairs, too, which was just wonderful. Maybe it would be better to just back off and let her go ahead of him so he didn't end up sparking some kind of hissy fit.

Some distant part of her vaguely registered the voice as familiar, but she was a bit too distracted to instantly put a face to it. All she knew was the guy sounded mad. Not that she much cared. It was his own fault. She turned to him with a mildly unimpressed expression, one hand waving in a bit of a 'yeah, yeah, whatever' gesture.
"'S what happens when ya just stand around, pal. Ya snooze, ya looooo..." Her voice faded away mid-sentence. In fact, she forgot what she was even saying. She was far too preoccupied staring at his face. His... face! Yeah, Harley remembered this guy now: Bandage Boy. It was pretty easy to tell the guy wasn't in the best shape, but holy moley! Look at him! It looked like a half of his face had just been seared clean off. Literally half his face, stopping right in the middle in a way that could have given Two Face a run for his money. Just as he was about to say that she could go right ahead (it wasn't worth an argument with someone this obnoxious), the girl paused and stared at him. Unabashedly, at that. When her eyes didn't pull away from his burns even after a good five seconds, Harvey threw his arms to his sides and snarled at her. "I think you've gotten a long enough look," he barked ( ... )
