Night 48: Disciplinary Therapy Room 4 [M-U for Mello]

Mar 28, 2010 02:05

What was it about geniuses? Paying peace of mind and ease for the ability to outsmart, outrun, outdo the common man... was it worth the exchange? What then, if it wasn't enough? There were any number of brilliant minds in the world, and sooner or later they would clash with one another. In the end, life is all about competition and not every might can be the most brilliant one. Someone has to take the back row seat.

Did that make them any less intelligent? No. This man, for example. Millions of people would probably give anything to reason the way he did. He could hold any number of high paying jobs if not for that one desire that has constantly pitted the best of men against each other since the beginning of time.

Where would it get him now?

A figure in a lab coat a good few sizes too big for him sat on a stool next to where his subject was laid out. Mello was strapped down tightly, an intricate metal device keeping his head firmly in place. One of the doctor's legs was pulled up on the chair, one arm absently twirling a bit of light-colored hair. His face was in shadow.

His subject was stirring. "I wouldn't jerk around any, if I were you," he warned before the blond was even fully conscious.
