While it was tempting to stay in the Twin Pines restaurant and nurse a cup of coffee, listening to the rain until it was time to go back up to the institute, Peter knew that he couldn't do that. For one thing, the memories of his day spent there with Nathan meant that he wasn't eager to linger; for another, he'd feel guilty if he didn't spend some time investigating the town a bit more. Even though he got the feeling that he wasn't going to find much, it would at least give him the illusion of taking charge.
Come to think of it, he wasn't sure what he was going to do with his night when he had no way of getting word from the paramedic group. Unless they'd posted to the bulletin in the grocery store? He'd have to check that out later.
Figuring that he should head to places he hadn't been yet, Peter took a left as he exited Twin Pines and then grimaced when he realized that the rain hadn't let up in the slightest. At this point, though, he'd resigned himself to getting soaked, and so even though the auto shop he stumbled upon didn't have much in the way of covering, Peter didn't let it bother him.
As a New Yorker, he couldn't say he knew much about cars. He could drive, sure, but cabs were usually the easier way to get around when it came down to it. He didn't think he'd linger around in this spot, but it was worth a glance over at the very least.
