Day 49: Late Afternoon - South Street
Utena could hear the megaphones calling for the patients to return indoors as she ducked behind the Hearth and Home building, hopefully out of sight of the nurses. She wasn't about to let her search get cut short just because it was a little wet outside. Since lunch, she had been up and down a few streets, in and out of various buildings with no sign of her suspected vandal. All the buildings were either too full of people or closed off from easy entry, and she doubted an injured man wanted to be hiding outdoors in this weather. On the plus side, fewer places left to search meant that (unless the man had somehow gotten into one of the locked locations), she had a higher chance of actually finding something. If nothing else, she at least wanted to see if there were any other interesting, out-of-the-way things about the town to find. Evidence of the zombie apocalypse from the previous week, maybe?
She pressed herself against the back of the building, waiting for the sound of the nurses to move further away. When she was sure she couldn't hear them as clearly anymore, she moved out again, this time down toward South Street. The buildings were becoming much more scarce out at this end of the town, as was the upkeep of the surroundings. In particular, a little further up on the right-hand side of the street, she could see a building that looked boarded-up and abandoned, with long grass overgrowing the land surrounding it. Utena gazed up at it with growing curiosity. "I'd say that's an invitation to investigate if I ever saw one..."
