Mello needed to replace his lost pipe, for starters, or find something better, if he could. As with many things he believed, he believed wholeheartedly in the existence of his Sig somewhere in the Institute, because to think otherwise would be to give in to despair. Someone had a gun; he'd heard it a couple of nights ago ( Read more... )

In any event, if there was something that could really breathe fire (it still sounded like fairy-tale stuff to him, but he wasn't going to deny its possibility anymore), then a fire extinguisher was the logical next step. Harvey had been to a few supply closets on the second floor, though he'd never had reason to look for a fire extinguisher, and so he couldn't remember if he'd seen one. Only one way to find out, unless Jones already had an idea of where to find one.

"So, what else did you want to know about Lunge?" he asked as they moved up. Giving Jones what he wanted would make him more willing to share information down the line, and Harvey was luckily in a position where he could spill without putting himself at any sort of disadvantage.

"I haven't given up on the ruins, but so far I haven't learned much from them that I can use. I thought it might be a good idea to have more than one line of study going, especially after the damage that minotaur did to the church the other night," Indy explained as they reached the stairwell and started climbing. It had wreaked the worst havoc right near the pulpit, exactly where he'd been hoping to look. He might've thought about going back to check anyway, if it hadn't been storming so badly. Now he might have to wait a few more days for the water level to go down. If it had been an actual dig site, Indy would've been more concerned about what this rain might do to it, but that town--if it was real--must've withstood a hell of a lot of inclement weather over the decades and he figured it could handle a little more ( ... )

From what Harvey had seen of the ruins himself, he could see why Jones was choosing to shelve it for now. There had been a lot of interesting things to see there, true, but the problem was that without more of a context to work with, it wasn't going to mean much to them. Keeping it all in mind would be important, of course, but having to make the trek there every night probably got tedious. Especially if minotaurs were there to make things more difficult. What a crazy thought ( ... )
