Day 52: Game Room

Oct 05, 2010 22:48

Lunch had taken his mind from his worries, if only for a few minutes. But after the intercom sounded and the nurses began leading patients onto the next activity, one look at the bulletin board brought everything back in full force. No replies from Ashton, Dias or Dad. By now Claude felt like he was practically counting down until the end of the ( Read more... )

After speaking with Lana at lunch, Harvey was a bit more conflicted about her, but not enough that he planned on avoiding her from here on out. The fact that a murder was surrounding her was strange on its own, but his main problem with her was that she seemed to think, at least to an extent, that corruption was permissible. While Harvey had already given up on trying to root out that sort of thing, he still couldn't approve of someone who would allow it so easily.

Though after his meal, Harvey had taken a moment to move back to the bulletin so that he could make some detailed notes about the results of the informal survey that he'd taken. It was highly likely that a few people hadn't replied, even anonymously, but now he had something to work with ( ... )

As Klavier followed his escort into the room, he tried to push his previous conversation from his mind. One of his biggest mistakes here was he kept allowing his emotions to distract him and derail his priorities. Allowing himself to be afraid or to worry for others he cared for, it might have been perfectly rational, but it hardly proved prodcutive. He could focus on worrying com dinner time. For now, he needed to concentrate on getting back in line and maintaining his focus. Hopefully, this meeting with Dent would yield something interesting. The man was yet another prosecutor. Fairly intelligent and sharp from what he could tell from their exchange on the bulletin. If nothing else, this would prove interesting ( ... )

When Harvey had spotted a young man with some bandages of his own lingering nearby, he hadn't imagined it was the Gavin he was waiting for. It was only as he started to approach that it became clear that was the case. Quickly, Harvey snatched his coin off of the table and then tucked it into the pocket of the sweatpants they were forced to wear so that he could take the other's hand. Gavin was far younger than expected, but that seemed to be the case with a good deal of the attorneys here. The only ones around his age were Gant (who wasn't even a lawyer) and Franziska's father, who he'd only spoken to briefly ( ... )

Klavier took the seat next to Dent, already happy with how this was going thus far. Professional courtesy? In this place? My, what an alien experience. He could count the amount of people who'd offered such a thing with one hand. But what made him decide he somewhat liked Dent was the fact that the man was so readily sharing his information with him despite having known him for all of thirty seconds. Unfortunate as it was to say, such a thing didn't occur terribly often here. People here only shared even the most harmless of information with those they trusted only. And as much as Klavier was fine with playing friendly with everyone to get information, this was so much faster. At least someone understood priorities ( ... )

Glad to see that Gavin was just as quick to hand over his own journal, Harvey took it carefully and opened it to the page marked by the pen. What he saw was a detailed chart full of information, but he didn't start reading it over until he listened to the other prosecutor's information. Harvey had to admit that the man's idea had been pretty ingenious, though the fact that the patients were shuffled around so much also made it almost impossible to keep track of everything. Unless a post was put up every day and people actually bothered to respond to it, there was no way to keep a complete and up-to-date ledger of the patients who were around at any given time ( ... )
