Night 52: West Wing, South Hall 1-A

[From here]"Ah...!" This wasn't the right hallway yet, but he could tell it was close from the fresh smell of patients off in the distance. He continued to jog briskly down the hallway, making sure to control his breathing so he didn't get winded so easily. There would be a lot of running (he hoped, at least) this night and it would be good for him ( Read more... )

[From here.]

L spoke to Lunge as they walked. "Landel must have something more than this planned for tonight--his comments were too grandiose if he was only going to be turning the lights on, and I don't think he'd bother with a demonstration of his control of the Institute's power grid for its own sake. Business as usualy save for two things, Lunge was quick to note. There was that sluggishness to the way L spoke still, something he probably wouldn't have picked up on at all were it not for what he was used to hearing. That was to be expected, though expectation didn't soften the slight twist of discomfort the observation brought him. But there was something else strange to note: L was watching something, a something along the floor and then, moments later, across the walls. He could just see the whites of his eyes moving under that thick veil of hair. But what...?

"Naturally," he answered. "He's always liked a show- it's just a matter of how damaging it will be. The targets this time seem to be the 'hero'-figures of the Institute. As for that comment..." He smiled faintly, more out of interest than anything. "He could be referring to something else some time back- when they apparently all worked together, maybe. The note I found last night seems to indicate they all knew each other."

Then again, isn't this all about perspective? ( ... )
