[Back from here.]The hallway was as empty as it had been earlier, which meant that the two of them were just left with the awkwardness of the situation they'd just escaped from to talk about. Peter could have brought up the blood, but there wasn't much to say about it just then and he doubted that Claire would want to hear it. She had just helped out two people who had betrayed her trust, after all ( ... )

The mention of Edward's potential pain dug at an emotional wound that she was sure Peter hadn't intended to poke at, but considering she'd already brought it up once tonight, it was hard to ignore. Would Edward feel the pain still? Claire couldn't -- not anymore, anyway. If it was a part of her ability, wouldn't it transfer with her blood? Of course, the very present possibility that it wasn't part of her ability at all and that Sylar had just broken her was there too ( ... )

It didn't seem like anyone had really planned that far ahead, but Peter couldn't really blame Bella and Claire for having Edward's well-being as their top priority. That put into further perspective how good of a friend Claire had been to Bella, and made Peter more upset about the other girl's behavior. He knew that he wasn't directly involved and should keep it that way, but it bothered him nonetheless, even if Bella might have the best reason in the world for her silence ( ... )
